Scottish giants Rangers are closing on a move for Nigeria Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers from Cremonese.
Dessers is at Italian side Cremonese who were relegated last season following a disappointing outing in the Serie A.
Dessers closes in on Rangers move
The 28-year-old could get a chance to relaunch his career in a top division next season.
According to Italian transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Dessers and Rangers are close to a deal.
Romano revealed this on Friday evening on his official social media account.
“Understand Rangers are closing in on deal for Cyriel Dessers,” he said in a tweet.
“Agreement now imminent with Cremonese for Nigerian striker — here we go soon,” he added.
The reliable transfer man also noted that both Cremonese and Rangers have agreed on the final fee and all documents are being drafted.
Dessers season at Cremonese
Despite a turbulent season for the club leading to demotion to the Serie B, the 28-year-old still managed 26 appearances in the Serie A.
He started 19 of those games and contributed eight goals, six goals and two assists.
The Dutch-born striker could become the latest Nigerian to play for the Gers if he completes the move to Glasglow.
Leon Balogun, Joe Aribo, and Calvin Bassey were Super Eagles stars who had played for Rangers.
