Inter secure three points as they move into Champions League spot

The Nerazzurri have won three games in a row heading to this game and have now added another win to make it four games in a row as they hope to qualify for the Champions League next season.

The away side scored three goals in the first half with goals from Hakan Calhanoglu, Edin Dzeko and an own goal giving the away side control of the game. An additional three goals were added in the second half by Marcelo Brozovic, Edin Dzeko and Lautaro Martinez as Inter cruised to victory.

Inter Milan fielded a strong lineup as Lautaro Martinez and Edin Dzeko led the attack for Simone Inzaghi's side while Hellas Verona manager Marco Zaffaroni made four changes to his side that played a draw with Cremonese.

The away side opened the scoring in the 31st minute from an own goal. Adolfo Gaich attempts to head the ball away after a cross into the penalty area, but instead, he accidentally sends it inside the right post of his own goal. 

The second goal was scored shortly after when Hakan Calhanoglu got to the ball and unleashed a strong shot from a distance. It turned out to be a good decision as his effort found its way into the top left corner.

Inter was cruising to a solid victory as they added the third two minutes after when Edin Dzeko got on the end of a pass inside the box and fired into the bottom left corner leaving the goalkeeper helpless.

The second started with the same intensity. Inter didn’t hold back with the goals as they added the fourth goal in the 55th minute as Marcelo Brozovic gets to the ball, slips a pass to Lautaro Martinez into the area and scored with a delightful chip.

The away side didn’t stop as they added the fifth goal in the 61st minute when Edin Dzeko latches on to a precise through ball from Francesco Acerbi before unleashing an unstoppable shot into the bottom left corner from the edge of the area.

Inter then crowned their effort with a sixth goal as Lautaro Martinez was in the right place at the right time to get to the rebound inside the box and gleefully rifles the ball low inside the right post.

This win pushes Inter Milan into fourth position with a chance to qualify for the Champions League next season.
