Napoli open contract extension talks with Osimhen to ward off Premier League interest
Napoli have reportedly opened direct talks with Victor Osimhen's camp over a new contract as they look to hold on to their star man amid interest from top European clubs.
The Nigerian striker recently led I Partenopei to their first league title in 33 years and is on course to win the Capocannoniere to go with his Scudetto.
His performances in the league and on the continent have put him on the radar of many top clubs. Napoli are unwilling to sell, and they have reportedly begun moves to further intertwine his journey with theirs.
Osimhen's contract extension
Napoli's president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, famously declared after the Serie A triumph that the Lagos-born striker was not for sale.
In a recent report by the club's official radio channel, Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli, the club have started negotiations with the strikers' representatives over a new contract, according to Hallmarknews.
Manchester United are one of the clubs consistently linked with the former Lille man. Their Premier League rivals, Chelsea, are also said to have registered interest, while Bayern Munich, who were keen on the signing, have publicly expressed that his transfer fee is a deterrent.
Kahn made the statement as Osimhen continues to be heavily linked with a move to the Bundesliga champions.
