Osimhen overtakes Salah as Africa's MVP
In the latest list revealed by Transfermarkt, Osimhen is now among the top ten most valuable players in the world and one of the ten players worth at least €100m.
The Super Eagles star sits joint eighth with Barcelona youngster Pedri and Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde, who also have a market value of €100m.
Osimhen’s latest market value makes him Africa’s most valuable player in the world, more valuable than Liverpool star Mohamed Salah.
The Nigeria international is also more valuable than Tottenham striker Harry Kane, who has been linked with a move to Manchester United.
Osimhen has also been linked with a move to Manchester United, but he is likely going to cost more than Kane should the Red Devils make a move for him.
Osimhen’s latest market valuation is not surprising as the Super Eagles star is having his best individual season yet this year.
The ex-Lille star has scored 25 goals in 29 games for Napoli this season, setting up another five for his teammates.
Osimhen is currently Serie A’s top scorer, with 21 goals in 23 games. Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland have scored more in Europe’s top five leagues this season.
The 24-year-old is also the most valuable player in Serie A, sitting ahead of his Napoli teammate Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is valued at €85m.
Mbappe is the MVP
Meanwhile, Kylian Mbappe leads the list with a whopping estimated value of €180m. Mbappe is followed by Haaland, who is valued at €170m.
Borussia Dortmund’s Jude Bellingham and Real Madrid’s Vinicius are up next with a value of €120m.
Bayern Munich’s youngster Jamal Musiala, Arsenal’s star Bukayo Saka and Manchester City’s Phil Foden round up the top five with a value of €110m.
