Jamaican sprint great Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce may not have put herself under pressure to win a gold medal at the 2025 World Championships but her son Zyon has set lofty targets for her.
Fraser-Pryce is set to bring the curtains down on her illustrious career at the 2025 World Championships where she is hoping to sign off in style.
The 38-year-old has also already said turning up in Tokyo is a win for her with anything else set to be a bonus but her son has made it clear that he will not be entertaining anything other than a podium finish.

"I can tell you by the way, my son is my harshest critic,” Fraser-Pryce said on Radio Jamaica. “He said; 'Mommy no more fourth place', so it's not just for me,” she added, explaining why she will not just be running for personal satisfaction but to impress her eight-year-old son and supporters.

Zyon has not just brought joy to the legendary sprinter’s life but has also acted as her main source of motivation and she is known to raise her game in competitions not to disappoint him.
Fraser-Pryce, who is the third fastest woman in history with a time of 10.60 seconds, has had few activities this year in a bid to conserve her energy ahead of the World Championships.
The five-time world champion faces a hard time against younger rivals in Tokyo but she remains a formidable force even if she has not won any international race so far this year.
‘Mommy Rocket’ will team up with Shericka Jackson and Tina Clayton in the 100m for Team Jamaica with the heats lined up on Saturday where the trio will be looking for a ticket to the semi-final.
