Michael Olise and 3 other Nigeria Super Eagles-eligible forwards who lit up Premier League with goals
In a Premier League season filled with standout performances from young, talented forwards, four players eligible for Nigeria Super Eagles, led by Michael Olise, have emerged as the cream of the crop.
Pulse Sports Nigeria can confirm that the Olise-led contingent combined for an impressive tally of 50 goals in the just concluded 2023/2024 Premier League.
Olise leads Super Eagles Hopefuls
Leading the charge is Crystal Palace's the 22-year-old winger, who has been a revelation under the guidance of Oliver Glasner.
Olise found the back of the net 10 times and provided a further six assists in just 19 appearances, showcasing his immense skill and creativity.
The Palace star is not the only Palace player making waves, however, as his teammate Eberechi Eze has also enjoyed a stellar campaign.
The playmaker netted 11 goals and set up four more in 27 matches, proving to be a constant threat for the Eagles.
Another Nigerian-eligible forward who has turned heads this season in the Premier League is Elijah Adebayo of Luton Town.
The giant striker has already declared his intention to represent the Super Eagles and proved his quality as he scored 10 goals in his maiden Premier League season, despite the Hatters' eventual relegation.
However, none of these impressive young talents can match the goalscoring exploits of Dominic Solanke, the former Chelsea striker who now plies his trade for Bournemouth.
Solanke, who is hoping to earn a place in Gareth Southgate's England squad for Euro 2024, finished the season as the sixth-highest scorer in the league with 19 goals and three assists.
As the Super Eagles continue their search for the next generation of talent, these four players have undoubtedly caught the eye and remain strong possibilities for Finidi George's side in the future.
