Mary Nuba returns to defending Netball Super League champions.
She Cranes star Mary Nuba is returning to the 2023 Netball Super League champions, Loughborough Lightning, for another season.
The three-time golden shooter told the club's media she is excited to return to the team and the season ahead.
"It's always a pleasure to wear the purple dress. I can't wait for the fun and the good times ahead of the season with a team full of hardworking individuals," Nuba told the media.
Nuba started her professional career with NIC Netball in 2017 after representing St. Mary's Kitende from 2013 to 2016.
Her exploits in the Ugandan League earned her a move to Loughborough University in December 2018, and made her debut in January 2019.
She made her She Cranes debut at the World University Games in 2018, where she won gold and scored the goal in a 44-43 win against South Africa in the final.
More accolades followed as she was voted MVP during the 2019 Africa Netball Championships in South Africa.
The 2022 Netball World Cup in South Africa was no different for Mary Nuba as her exceptional performances earned the She Cranes a fifth-place finish at the tournament, their highest ever.
She hopes to lead her team to their fourth straight grand final this season after winning two of the last three titles in 2021 and 2023.
