Benjamin Sesko Deal on the Right Track
According to Manchester Evening News, reports have suggested that a ‘gentleman's agreement’ now exists between RB Leipzig and Benjamin Sesko, potentially paving the way for his departure.
While a £60 million price tag is steep, Manchester United are reportedly prepared to meet it, contingent on offloading some current players.
Journalist Fabrizio Romano confirmed the agreement, while Florian Plettenberg added that Manchester United have presented Benjamin Sesko with a compelling financial package and outlined their long-term vision.
The Slovenian striker is said to be impressed, but faces competition from Newcastle United, who are also preparing a bid.
Manchester United will need patience and a strategic approach to secure Benjamin Sesko. While the agreement is promising, Leipzig are under no pressure to sell.
The club must act decisively, however, to avoid being drawn into a bidding war with Newcastle, who are actively seeking a striker amidst uncertainty surrounding Alexander Isak's future.
Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand had earlier warned the Red Devils from acquiring Benjamin Sesko, noting that it is a risk not worth taking.
“Buying someone without much experience is another risk at this level. Is it worth taking with inexperienced players?” he asked on his YouTube Channel.
Chelsea Maintain Alejandro Garnacho Interest
In other news, it has been reported that despite pursuing RB Leipzig's Xavi Simons, Chelsea reportedly retain their interest in Alejandro Garnacho.
The Telegraph has suggested that Alejandro Garnacho is seen as competition for Jamie Gittens on the left wing. However, a move would likely depend on Chelsea offloading Christopher Nkunku.
This continued interest could benefit Manchester United, who are looking to streamline their squad under manager Ruben Amorim. Alejandro Garnacho's sale would free up squad space and generate funds for reinforcements in other key areas.
