Living the life - Bellingham arrives at training in an 850-hp supercar not yet released
The car, a Polestar 5 prototype, isn't yet available for sale. Its international debut is scheduled for September at the IAA (International Motor Show).
This explains the camouflage wrap on the prototype driven by Bellingham and his teammate, 23-year-old Daniel Svensson.
Bellingham drives new car
The 850-hp vehicle was provided by the Swedish manufacturer, complete with a chauffeur. Bellingham and Svensson experienced the car after training, albeit as passengers, as reported by GSP. The test drive comes as Polestar and Borussia Dortmund are negotiating a multi-million euro partnership.
The partnership is expected to last three years. As part of the ongoing negotiations, several Borussia Dortmund stars have been given the opportunity to experience the Polestar 5.
The deal isn't yet official, but one thing is clear: the Swedish electric car brand aims to compete with the likes of Porsche and Audi, particularly in the electric vehicle segment, where Audi is a sponsor of Bayern Munich.
Jobe Bellingham, brother of Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham, joined Borussia Dortmund this summer transfer window from Sunderland.
The Black and Yellows paid €30.5 million for the youngster, securing him on a five-year contract until 2030. He can play as a defensive midfielder, central midfielder or in an attacking midfield role.
Jude also played for Borussia Dortmund between 2020 and 2023, before making the move to Real Madrid. The German club received €113 million for his transfer, having originally signed him from Birmingham City for €30 million.
