Both teams are out of the running for a place at next year’s World Cup but for Benni McCarthy and his team, it is time for redemption after their 3-1 loss to The Gambia last Friday.

Unlike The Gambia, Seychelles are the minnows in Group F and have lost all their matches, including a 5-0 loss to Kenya, when the two teams last faced off in November 2023.

That will give Harambee Stars confidence of a win at Kasarani Stadium as they look to bring the smile back on their supporters’ faces after the disappointment of Friday.

Interestingly, that win against Seychelles is Kenya’s only victory in the group having drawn three games against The Gambia away and in back-to-back home matches with Burundi and Ivory Coast.

They have also lost to Gabon home and away before the surprising defeat to Johnathan McKinstry’s men in Nairobi.

For Seychelles, their record is grim as they have suffered seven defeats in seven games, letting in three or more goals in each of the games for a total of 34 conceded goals while managing to score just two.

Head-to-Head Record

Harambee Stars head into the match high on confidence as they have a strong record against the island nation who they have beaten in all their four meetings.

Besides the 5-0 loss they handed them in November 2023, they had beaten them 2-0 in a friendly in 2015 while in World Cup qualifiers in 2011, Kenya won 3-0 away before a 4-0 home victory.
