Adesanya and Pereira have faced off four times, twice in MMA and twice in kickboxing.

In kickboxing, Pereira defeated Adesanya 2-0, but in mixed martial arts, the two competitors have one win each.
Adesanya is still a middleweight fighter while Pereira has moved up to become light heavyweight champion.

Adesanya in UFC Hall of Fame
The iconic 2019 bout between middleweights Israel Adesanya and Kelvin Gastelum will be inducted into the Fight Wing of the UFC Hall of Fame in 2025.
Both Adesanya and Gastelum came into the fight for the interim middleweight title as the co-main event of UFC 236 in Atlanta, Georgia, with respective winning streaks and delivered a fight for the ages.
