Ex-Sundowns Star Shares How ‘Attention-Loving’ Mosimane Always Changed With Media Around
Former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Andile Jali has lifted the lid on Pitso Mosimane’s love for attention which saw him get excited whenever the media was around.
Jali worked with Mosimane from 2018-2020 at Sundowns and enjoyed success at the club before the tactician left to join Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The midfielder has opened up about how Mosimane would get actively worked up when the cameras were around.
“We didn’t like it when the media would be coming to Sundowns,” Jali said on the Arena Sports Show podcast recently.
Mosimane Enjoyed Success at Sundowns
“Because he would exaggerate everything he does. Whatever he would do, he would be checking if the media people could see him. He would make wild gestures we didn’t understand just for their attention.
“Sometimes he would be shouting at you, but would be facing towards where the media people are, and you would be behind him.”
Mosimane is known for his outspokenness which he always displayed during pre and post-match interviews to the media and he has previously admitted that it also helped add pressure on referees.
The veteran coach enjoyed plenty of success at Sundowns, winning five PSL titles, as well as the CAF Champions League during his spell at the club between 2012 and 2020.
