According to the Daily Sun, Iranian agent Hamed Ghadiri has instructed his lawyers to take action against Tlhagale’s agency, Moira Tlhagale Sports Marketing and Management (MT Sports).

Ghadiri claims the agency has failed to pay him for his role in securing a coaching position for Pitso Mosimane with Iranian club Esteghlal.

Pitso Mosimane Speaks Out

When contacted for comment, Lyrique du Plessis of BDP Attorneys confirmed sending the letter of demand but declined to elaborate further. Moira Tlhagale did not respond to calls or messages.

However, Pitso Mosimane acknowledged the legal dispute, stating, "So did he run to the papers? You guys love tabloids. What I know is that the two lawyers are talking. But I don’t owe anyone money."

Meanwhile, Ghadiri confirmed instructing his lawyers, recounting a meeting with Pitso Mosimane in Qatar, where the agreement was made.

"He looked me in the eye and said, 'We are South Africans, like Nelson Mandela. We are honest people, and we will pay you your money.' I believed him because I know South Africans are good and honest people," Ghadiri said.

The agent expressed his disappointment, noting that even after the contract termination, Mosimane promised to pay him once he received his settlement from FIFA. "I feel betrayed by him," Ghadiri concluded.

Legal Action Initiated Over Unpaid Fee

The dispute has escalated with Ghadiri’s legal team, BDP Attorneys, issuing a formal letter of demand to MT Sports.

The letter, dated March 5, 2026, insists on the payment of the outstanding amount or warns of impending legal proceedings.

According to the lawyers, MT Sports granted Ghadiri a special power of attorney (SPOA) to negotiate a coaching contract for Mosimane with Esteghlal. Following this, a service agreement was allegedly signed between Ghadiri and MT Sports.

The legal documents state that Ghadiri successfully secured an offer of employment, which resulted in Mosimane signing a contract with the club on 18 October 2024.

Agent Claims USD 75,000 Owed

Ghadiri’s lawyers assert that MT Sports agreed to pay him a service fee of USD 75,000 (approximately R1.2 million).

This amount was reportedly 75% of the total fee MT Sports was set to receive from the club once Mosimane's contract was finalised.

"MT Sports would pay the service fee into our client’s nominated bank account in full and final settlement of MT Sports’ obligations to our client," the letter of demand claims.

The lawyers allege that after Ghadiri fulfilled his obligations, MT Sports was initially hesitant to provide him with a signed copy of the service agreement. They argue that the eventual release of the document confirms the agency's debt to their client.

WhatsApp Messages and Promises of Payment

The legal team further claims to have evidence of Pitso Mosimane himself acknowledging the debt. In a WhatsApp message dated 28 February 2025, Mosimane allegedly told Ghadiri not to "worry" and that his wife, Moira, "will pay [him]".

Even after Pitso Mosimane’s contract with Esteghlal was prematurely terminated, the former Bafana Bafana coach allegedly assured Ghadiri that payment would be made.

"It was, further, promised to our client that payment would be made once Pitso’s claim against the club before the FIFA Football Tribunal was resolved," the lawyers stated.

Ghadiri’s representatives have now received confirmation that Mosimane has been compensated by the club following the FIFA tribunal, yet the agent's fee remains unpaid.

"Our client has been advised that Pitso has received payment of compensation from the club. The same has been confirmed to our client by Pitso by WhatsApp," the letter said.
