Erik Ten Hag is now rebuilding Manchester United to his taste.

Ten Hag’s predecessor, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer handed the English the revered armband in January 2020 but that has now come to an end.

However, three years later, Maguire will step aside for a new leader in the dressing room following a clear-the-air talk with his Dutch manager.

Bruno Fernandes is the most likely to replace Maguire as new captain.
