Every Liverpool Game Is a Must-Win – Arne Slot Confronts Pressure After EFL Cup Exit
Liverpool were dumped out of the EFL Cup on Wednesday night deepening the crisis at Anfield and forcing manager Arne Slot to confront the growing pressure on his tenure.
The Reds suffered a dismal 3-0 fourth-round defeat at home to Crystal Palace for a result that cranks up the scrutiny on the Dutchman ahead of a formidable run of fixtures.
Crystal Palace, who have become a bogey team for the Reds this season, struck twice in quick succession through Ismaila Sarr, leaving Anfield stunned.
The situation worsened significantly when promising youngster Amara Nallo was sent off, marking a disastrous second red card in as many competitive matches for the defender.

Yeremy Pino added a third goal after the break to compound Liverpool’s misery, sealing their premature exit from the competition.
This latest defeat is not an isolated incident but the continuation of a disastrous run of form. It marks the sixth defeat Liverpool have suffered in their last seven competitive matches across all competitions.
In a cruel twist of irony, this dismal sequence began with a 2-1 Premier League loss away at the very same Crystal Palace, highlighting a sudden and severe collapse in form and confidence.
Slot was asked by Sky Sports if the upcoming Premier League clash against Aston Villa had become a "must-win" game to stop the rot.
"Every Liverpool game is a must-win," Slot replied bluntly as per Fotmob.com
The road ahead offers no respite for Slot or his struggling side. The Villa match is just the start of a season-defining period before the next international break. Liverpool must navigate that league game before a monumental Champions League showdown with Real Madrid, followed immediately by a Premier League clash against reigning champions Manchester City.
Slot concedes form is 'Not of Liverpool's Standards'
Despite his "must-win" assertion, Slot acknowledged that the current run is unacceptable for a club of Liverpool’s stature.
"It's not of Liverpool's standards to lose five out of six, it's not of Liverpool's standards to lose six out of seven, so it (the pressure) might increase a little bit but not so much because the pressure was already high for the upcoming week, where again we have to face three very difficult teams," Slot said.
He did, however, find a minor silver lining in the brutal schedule.
"But now maybe the good thing is for the first time, we can do this in eight days, whereas all the other days it was in seven days."
Manager defends 'necessary' team selection
Slot faced criticism for his team selection against Palace, opting for a youthful-looking side mixed with peripheral squad members rather than front-line stars, despite the team's poor form.
He explained the physical strain his team has been under. "We have a game tonight, only two days' rest, play another one, only two days' rest, and then a few days more for Man City."
Slot concluded by standing firm on his choice, pointing to a lack of available senior players as the primary reason for the heavy rotation.
"Everyone can have their opinion on it (the line-up), but with the squad we are having, 15 or 16 first-team players available, this is the choice I have made."
That choice has resulted in an early cup exit, and with the squad stretched and confidence shattered, Slot's "must-win" mentality will be put to the ultimate test in the crucial week ahead.
