The quartet of Dismas Mokua, Peter Mogendi, Zachary Bichage, and Andrew Nyanusi produced an impressive combined total of 99 points to emerge victorious at the KCB East Africa Golf Tour held over the weekend at the par-70 Kisii Golf Club.

Their stellar performance not only secured them the top spot in the team event but also guaranteed them a coveted place in the tour’s highly anticipated grand finale, which is scheduled for December 5.

Meanwhile, in the hotly contested individual category, handicap 20 golfer Josphat Omayo stood out from a large and competitive field by delivering a brilliant round of 37 stableford points.

His consistent play throughout the day earned him the overall winner’s title, capping off a thrilling day of golf that highlighted both individual brilliance and team synergy.

Speaking during the prize-giving ceremony on behalf of the team, Dismas Mokua said: “It is such an honour for us to emerge victorious after a competitive round of golf here at Kisii. We had an amazing four-ball.

“As a team, we challenged each other on the course, and we knew that we had to take the game seriously for us to win. We intend to go to the grand finale to win.”

KCB East Africa Golf Tour: Other Notable Performances

Wycliffe Ayienda, playing off handicap 8, delivered a solid round of 35 stableford points to emerge as the Men’s Winner in an eventful day of action.

In the ladies’ category, Christine Nyangena, playing off handicap 20, carded 33 points to secure a well-deserved victory, showcasing poise and consistency across the course.

Divisional play saw Charles Aburi (handicap 6) top Division One with 35 points, Moses Lepiren (handicap 20) claim Division Two honours with 32 points, and Alanna Osoro (handicap 40) dominate Division Three by posting 35 points.

Special prizes added flair to the competition, with Andrew Kombo winning the First Nine on 19 points and Peter Mogendi sealing the Second Nine title with 20 points, while sponsor prizes went to Steve Nyamanya and Eliud Siganga, both scoring 29 points.

Scola Onsongo triumphed in the Guest Category with a score of 28 points, as the junior contest ended in a tie between Leo Osoro and Amani Kristen at 29 points, with Leo winning on countback.

On-course challenges thrilled spectators, with David Biegon and Elizabeth Mose winning the Longest Drive titles for men and women, respectively, and K Too clinching the Nearest to the Pin prize. The tour now moves to its next stop at Sigona Golf Club on August 9, 2025.
