The KCB East Africa Golf Tour this Saturday at the lush par-71 Kisii Golf Club has attracted over 100 golfers who are set to take part in the highly anticipated showdown.

The event will attract participants from various counties across the country, bringing together a diverse blend of experienced players and emerging talent.

It will serve as a platform to showcase the depth and quality of regional golfing skills, while also promoting sportsmanship.

The morning tee-off is scheduled for 6:30 am, with the afternoon round starting at noon as players compete for spots in the tour’s grand finale.

Kisii Golf Club Captain: We Expect a Huge Turnout

Speaking ahead of the event, Kisii Golf Club captain Adrian Monari said that they were working towards ensuring the success of the tournament.

He noted that the club's greens had been well maintained and the fairways were wide enough to allow golfers to enjoy their game.

“We expect a huge number of players to compete this weekend, and it is my wish that the best team will qualify for the tour’s grand finale,” Adrian Monari shared.

Recently, two teams from Machakos Golf Club secured their spots in the tour’s grand finale following an impressive performance.

The qualifiers included Benjamin Mumo, John Masai, Faustine Maithya, L.M. Kamba, Richard Muli, Bernard Mutua, Major Mumo, and Jack Musomba.

“The KCB East Africa Golf Tour is not just about golf; it is about creating connections, nurturing talent, and giving back to communities,” KCB Group Director Marketing and Communications Rosalind Gichuru said.

“We are excited to bring the tournament to Kisii and continue fostering regional integration and camaraderie through sport.”

The series has so far covered seven counties in Kenya and extended its reach to two other East African countries, Burundi and Uganda.

Through its wide coverage, the tour continues to promote regional integration, broaden access to the game, and leverage golf as a tool for socio-economic growth.

To date, the competition has engaged over 1,500 participants and reached more than 1,000 juniors through golf clinics held alongside each leg of the tour.

Additionally, the Bank recently organised a special caddie tournament during the Nakuru edition, reinforcing its commitment to inclusivity and community engagement across all levels of the sport.
