Ochieng's professional journey began in 2011 with Nairobi Stima. His impressive performances soon caught the attention of Tusker FC, one of Kenya's premier clubs, where he played from 2012 to 2013. 

Seeking international exposure, Ochieng ventured to Saudi Arabia, joining Al-Taawon from 2013 to 2015, making 51 appearances and scoring once.

In February 2016, Ochieng signed with the New York Cosmos in the United States, contributing significantly over two seasons. 

He then moved to Sweden's IF Brommapojkarna in 2018, adding European experience to his portfolio. A brief stint with Kenya's AFC Leopards followed in early 2019 before he returned to the Middle East to play for Al-Ansar later that year.

By 2020, Ochieng was back in Kenya, joining Mathare United. His leadership and experience were invaluable to the team. In 2023, he signed with Kenya Police FC, bolstering their defense and bringing mentorship to younger players.
