According to reports, Mohammed Bajaber withdrew from the tournament after departing the country on Sunday night to sign a deal with Simba.

With that, the 22-year-old becomes ineligible to compete at CHAN since the tournament is only for local players. Others who withdrew from the squad include former Kakamega Homeboyz striker Moses Shummah and his Talanta FC counterpart Emmanuel Osoro who for Zambian giants Power Dynamos.

Harambee Stars are in Group A and will kickstart their campaign against DR Congo on Sunday, August 3. They will also be up against Morocco, Angola and Zambia. Harambee Stars are set to play all their matches at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani.
