With all tickets sold out and tens of thousands of fans expected at the 48,000-seater stadium, the National Police Service has rolled out road closures and diversions to ease congestion and boost security around match venues.

According to Joseph Chirchir, Officer Commanding Traffic in Nairobi County, Thika Road will be restricted to stadium-bound traffic only on Thursday. If you’re not headed to Kasarani, use alternative routes, namely Kiambu Road, Limuru Road or the Eastern Bypass.

DR Congo, two-time CHAN champions, will seek redemption against tournament veterans Zambia at Nyayo. With both matches expected to draw heavy traffic and massive crowds, authorities are calling on Nairobi residents to plan ahead, leave early, and cooperate with traffic police.
