Boniface, Animashaun among 25 Flamingos selected for WAFU B U-17 Girls Cup in Ghana
In preparation for the WAFU B U17 Girls' Cup, head coach Bankole Olowookere recruited 25 players to the Flamingos to the U17 women's national team camp.
The coach has mostly relied on the team that advanced to the quarterfinals of the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup in the Dominican Republic a few weeks ago.
Midfielder Shakirat Moshood, who scored four goals during the tournament, is at the top of the list.
Additionally invited are midfielder Farida Abdulwahab, strikers Harmony Chidi, Peace Effiong, and Janet Akekoromowei, defenders Taiwo Adegoke, Jumai Adebayo, and Prisca Nwachukwu, and first-choice goalkeeper Christiana Uzoma.
In the two-week, six-team competition, the Flamingos have been placed in group B with the U17 girls from Niger Republic and Cote d'Ivoire.
On Tuesday, December 3, 2024, all invited players are expected to report to the Remo Stars Sports Institute in Ikenne-Remo, Ogun State.
The WAFU B U17 cup will be held in Ghana from December 12–26, 2024.
