Blow For Arsenal As Barcelona Yanks Away Transfer Target

Arsenal has been dealt a major blow as long term target Nico Williams is Barcelona's final choice for their new winger.

The LaLiga giants have reportedly reached an agreement with him for a transfer to Camp Nou.

According to journalist Santi Aouna, the Spanish international and the champions have agreed on a six-season contract with a salary of €12 million.

Now, however, the Catalans face a more difficult task of raising the €62 million needed to pay the Athletic Bilbao player's release clause.

This potential transfer would follow that of goalkeeper Joan Garcia from Espanyol, whose release clause will also be activated in this case, for €25 million.

There were reports that Nico Williams is currently also a target for Real Madrid. The European champion was close to joining Barcelona last summer but ultimately declined the transfer.
