Bayelsa United's Super 6 dream up in flames after shock Doma United defeat
Doma continued their recent form with another important result following a 2-1 win over Bayelsa United on Sunday.
The Tigers produced an excellent performance in the second half to move two points clear in the race for the super six,
Charles Chibuike and Ekawu Hilari were the stars of the day fpr the Tigers as they netted the two goals.
Doma move up the ladder
The newly promoted side has been a surprise package in the abridged NPFL season with their latest win putting them in a good position to make the playoff.
Doma’s victory against Bayelsa saw them make it back-to-back victories in the NPFL, moving them up to second on the table.
The Gombe club are now just one point behind leaders, Lobi Stars, and two clear of the chasing pack, Rivers United in third and Niger Tornadoes in fourth.
Doma have won seven, drawn four and lost four of their 15 matches this season and will be looking to seal a shock spot in the super six with just three games to go in the regular season.
Bayelsa lose unbeaten run
Meanwhile, for the Restoration boys, it was a bad day at the office for them in faraway Gombe on Sunday.
Bayelsa have been one of the most entertaining teams in the NPFL this season having scored the second most goals of any side in the football league.
However, with three games to go, Doma have ended whatever hopes they had of making it to the playoffs after putting an end to their run of four matches without defeat.
The Restoration Boys currently sit seventh in Group B on 15 points, eight points away from the Super Six.
