Odhiambo ditched Gor Mahia after four successful years at the club, which yielded back-to-back FKF Premier League titles, which he contributed immensely to.

The playmaker, nicknamed Rolls Royce, opted to try himself in Lebanon, joining the nine-time Lebanese champions where he will play alongside fellow Kenyans Masud Juma and Anthony Akumu.

Odhiambo was welcomed to training on Thursday by his new teammates, who initiated him to their club with a huddle and claps before he was taken through his paces.

“A welcome? Or a personal test 😅#WeclomeRollsRoyce #NejmehSc,” Nejmeh posted on social media a clip showing Odhiambo being welcomed by his new teammates.

Odhiambo is believed to have cost the club Ksh8 million in transfer fees, a good sum for Gor Mahia, given the player was entering the final six months of his deal.

“With Austine Odhiambo, there is no problem at all. Everything concerning that transfer has been handled properly. The club has completed all procedures with us, and we have received full payment,” Gor Mahia secretary general Nick Arum told SportPesa Blog last week.

With Gor Mahia’s blessings, Odhiambo, known for his chance creation and goal scoring abilities, will hope to light up the Beirut-based club who are second on the league table.

Nejmeh are second on the 12-team league standings with 26 points from 11 games, just two behind leaders Al-Ansar, and will hope that their new acquisition was the final piece of the jigsaw puzzle in their bid to recapture the league title that they last won in 2024 before a disappointing fourth place finish last season.
