Arsenal Star Myles Lewis-Skelly Breaks Down What Chelsea Transfer Noni Madueke Brings to the Gunners
Arsenal midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has backed the club’s decision to sign Noni Madueke, praising the former Chelsea winger as a key addition to Mikel Arteta’s squad.
In a summer full of bold moves, the Gunners secured the England international for over £50 million, with the 23-year-old penning a five-year deal after making 92 appearances for Chelsea and earning his first England cap last year.
While some pundits have raised eyebrows over the transfer fee and questioned the need for another right winger when Bukayo Saka is already thriving in that position, Lewis-Skelly sees the signing as both strategic and transformative.

Lewis-Skelly's Insight
Speaking to Arsenal.com during the Gunners' pre-season tour, Lewis-Skelly shared his excitement about reuniting with Madueke, whom he got to know closely on England duty.
"Noni is my guy! We get on really well, and we're so similar," Lewis-Skelly said.
"I'm thrilled he's joined us. He made me feel so welcome when I joined the national team, and I've done the same for him here."
Lewis-Skelly praised Madueke’s direct style of play and his ability to operate on either flank, stating, "His qualities are going to help us immensely. I'm incredibly excited to have him because he's going to bring a lot to the team."
Depth and Dynamism in Arsenal's Attack
Madueke is Arsenal’s fourth high-profile signing this summer, following the arrivals of Spanish midfielder Martin Zubimendi, Danish anchor Christian Norgaard, and goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga also from Chelsea.
The club also secured striker Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon and center-back Cristhian Mosquera from Valencia as Arteta continues to strengthen across the pitch.
Despite never hitting double digits in Premier League goals, Madueke brings experience from both the Eredivisie and the Champions League.
At just 23, his best years may still lie ahead, and his versatility could provide the kind of squad depth Arsenal need for a title challenge and European campaign.
If Lewis-Skelly’s confidence is any indication, Madueke could soon silence his doubters and become a key figure at the Emirates.
