The Brazilian dazzling winger is three months into his loan spell with Real Betis, but looks reborn after leaving Old Trafford in January on a short term deal.

In his three months with Betis, the former Ajax star has scored four goals and provided as many assists in 16 matches, much to the delight of the fans and the technical bench too as revealed by the Daily Mail.

The move to Spain was necessary considering that he struggled to nail down a regular spot under Ten Hag following his £85million move from Ajax 2022, with the Brazilian finding himself on the periphery also under Amorim.

In 96 matches donning the United colours, Antony scored just 12 goals and added five assists for the Red Devils, despite being the club's second most expensive signing of all-time.

"I've only had a short time working with Amorim, but he's a very good coach. A very intelligent coach," Antony said.

"United are going through a difficult time at the moment, but he's a good coach. I had a good relationship with him, but I needed a new challenge and I wish him all the luck in the world in this final stretch of the season."

"Erik ten Hag is a coach I'm very grateful to. He helped me a lot in the Netherlands, and in England too, even though the opportunities didn't come the way I wanted to.

"But that's the coach's choice, I don't hold any grudges or anything. On the contrary, I'm very grateful for everything he's done with me, for all the conversations too.

"He's a coach who will certainly be in this story because he helped me a lot."

Betis do not have an option to buy Antony within their loan deal, although they are covering 84 per cent of his salary.
