Nigeria, who last participated in the Olympics in Tokyo 2020, has successfully qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris and will make two consecutive appearances at the main event.

The United States of America turned up the heat by defeating Nigeria 100-46 at the FIBA Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament in Antwerp.

Nigeria 46-100 USA

It was about as far away from their epic opener with Belgium as you could get. Instead of a last-second tip-in to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat, USA were rampant in this one as they moved to 2-0.

The USA stepped on the gas and drove it hard to the floor during the second quarter.

Any chance Nigeria had of continuing in the match was dashed by their explosive 32-7 quarter.

The difference in shot percentages downtown, with the USA making 15 of 31 and Nigeria making only 2, was undoubtedly one of the most striking statistics.

Even though Belgium had earlier lost to a strong opponent in the USA, their victory over Senegal later in the day was sufficient to guarantee them a trip to Paris with one game remaining in Antwerp.

Given that they failed to achieve their goal of a win in the capital of Japan three years ago, the crucial question now becomes: Will Nigeria get it done on French soil?
