How Fufu helped me- Ex-Super Falcons star Desire Oparanozie

Former Super Falcons star Desire Oparanozie has spoken about her love for fufu.

Former Super Falcons player, Desire Oparnozie, has revealed how Nigerian food fufu helped her.

Oparnozie, who retired from professional football at 29, disclosed this during an interview with Pulse Sports.

Oparanozie made 35 appearances for the Super Falcons and scored 22 goals.

The forward played for Nigeria's U-17 and U-20 squads at the underage level. She scored twice as the Falconets advanced to the final of the 2010 U-20 Women's World Cup in Germany, where they were defeated 2-0 by the host team. Later, she scored three times to lead the team to the semifinals of the 2012 tournament in Japan.

Footballers and Fufu

Recall that Borussia Dortmund’s Karim Adeyemi once said that fufu is the secret to his speed.

“It is called fufu, and it’s a Nigerian food which is very good,” he said.

Oparanozie love for fufu

Like Adeyemi, like Oparanozie, the former Super Falcons star said she cant do without food and her favourite is fufu.

"I cant leave without food, i love food, fufu and okweri thats my favorite," she said.

The Owerri-born retired striker was given the Imo State Football Association's "Honorary Member" designation.
