Super Falcons star Asisat Oshoala played her part as Barcelona departs Mexico with a trophy.

Super Falcons of Nigeria star Asisat Oshoala has reason to celebrate with Barcelona.

The 28-year-old forward has now completed the Mexican tour pre-season tour with Barcelona.

Asisat Oshoala set to depart Mexico

Oshoala was in action for Barcelona Femeni as they recorded a 1-0 victory against Tigres UANL early on Saturday, September 2, 2023.

At the Universitario de Monterrey stadium, Nuevo León Claudia Pina scored the goal in the match early in the 18th minute.

Two-time Ballon d'Or winner Alexia Putellas provided the assist for the spectacular effort by Pina in front of 39,500 people.

Asisat Oshoala shines for Barcelona in the final game in Mexico

The game lost intensity in the second half as Barcelona Head Coach Jonatan Giráldez introduced Super Falcons star Oshoala in the 63rd minute.

Oshoala had a chance to score the second for Barcelona in the 66th minute but her shot crashed into Ceci Santiago.

The Super Falcons of Nigeria star tried to feint Santiago in a one-on-one again in the 78th minute but the goalkeeper stole the ball.

Barcelona held on for the win as they completed their American tour of Mexico and received a trophy for their efforts.

Oshoala since the World Cup

The veteran forward scored one goal, started two games, and came off the bench twice as the Super Falcons crashed out of the World Cup on penalties at the round of 16 stage.

Oshoala has returned to Barcelona after featuring for the Super Falcons of Nigeria at the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup.

Following her arrival in Barcelona, Oshoala was in action as Barcelona defeated Juventus to win the Gamper trophy.

Oshoala then provided an assist as Barcelona Femeni recorded a 2-0 victory against Club America.

In recent photos from Barcelona, Oshoala joined her Barcelona teammates for some fun in Mexico.

Following the conclusion of the tour of Mexico, Oshoala is expected to return to Europe with Barcelona.

Oshoala will now aim to find her help in Barcelona as they begin the defense of their Primera División Femenina de Fútbol title against Valencia on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
