Kabras Sugar overcame Menengai Oilers once again following their Kenya Cup final triumph.

Kabras Sugar overcame Menengai Oilers 33-12 at the Refinery Grounds in Nakuru on Saturday.

Oilers, who were seeking revenge for their Kenya Cup Final loss, remained unchanged from their lineup, with Ibrahim Ayoo captaining the side as Francis Atiti led the line, and the back row saw Amos Obae steady the ship with Nelson Makokha and Samuel Were.

Kabras remained unchanged as well, with Ephrahim Oduor leading the front row as George Nyambua came in to steady the back row with Gabriel Adero and Jeanson Misoga.

The opening ten minutes proved to be a cagey affair, with neither team budging.

The breakthrough came in the 27th minute when Samuel Mwaura's grubber kick crept in beyond the try line to hand Kabras a 3-0 lead.

Their dominance continued as they enjoyed possession, which they made good use of in the 36th minute when Walter Okoth scored a try to put the Millers up 10-0.

Kabras piled the misery on the Oilers right on the stroke of halftime as Alfred Orege scored the game's second try to send the Millers leading 15-0 into the break.

The second half started on the same note, with Kabras dictating the proceedings as Ntabeni Dukisa extended the lead to 18-0 with a brilliant kick over the try line.

Oilers had their first draw of blood when Timothy Omela went over the try line and converted to bring the side back into contention.

Just when the Oilers were getting into their groove, Dukisa scored a gut-punch try to halt their momentum for 25-7.

Kabras piled more misery on the Oilers as Orege pounced on a loose ball to break for the try line with deadly pace and score his second try of the game to extend the lead to 30-7.

An Oilers resurgence seemed far-fetched but hopeful as Samuel Ovwamu brought the scores to 30-12, but Kabras saw out a 33-12 win to register a second consecutive cup final victory over their fierce rivals.
