Everything you need to know about the upcoming Enterprise Cup final between Menengai Oilers and Kabras Sugar set to take place in Nakuru on Saturday.

Rugby fans are in for a mouthwatering clash as defending Enterprise Cup champions Kabras RFC will be hoping to beat Menengai Oilers in the second Cup final in a fortnight when the two sides lock horns in the 2024/25 Enterprise Cup final set for Saturday, 26 April, at the ASK Nakuru Showground.

Oilers will be hoping to exert revenge following their narrow 27-26 loss to the Sugarmen in the Kenya Cup final in Kakamega on April 12.

The result secured a historic four-peat for Carlos Katywa’s side — becoming only the fourth team to achieve the feat after Impala (1970–74), Nondescripts (1978–82 and 1991–94), and KCB Rugby (2017–21).

The victory marked Kabras' fourth consecutive Kenya Cup title and extended their unbeaten run to 41 matches, showcasing their dominance in Kenyan rugby.

Despite a spirited fightback by the Oilers, including two second-half tries, Kabras' efficient kicking and disciplined defense secured their historic win.

Oilers, beaten finalists in 2022 and now again in 2025, will have a chance for revenge when the two sides meet again in the final of the 2025 Enterprise Cup on April 26 at the ASK Nakuru Showground.

Ahead of the rematch, here is everything you need to know:

Where to watch

Coverage will begin from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, as Kabras Rugby takes on Menengai Oilers in what promises to be a thrilling encounter.

What have the coaches said ahead of the clash?

Menengai Oilers coach Gibson Weru is already focused on setting the record straight in Nakuru.

“We’ll learn from that, get better, and prepare for the next final in the Enterprise Cup against them. This time, we’ll make sure we come out victorious,” he added.

Katywa unhappy ahead of the match

Kabras Sugar Head coach Carlos Katywa is a worried man though, especially with the nature in which they won the Kenya Cup by only a point, so he knows going to Nakuru to complete the double will not be easy.

"I'm happy for the boys. As a coach, personally, I'm slightly disappointed because this game shouldn't have gone to the wire, and it shouldn't have been this close. There are a lot of issues—discipline within our group.

"I'm excited, I'm happy, but there's a lot that needs to be done. It might be the end of the season, but this is not the way we want to end it. We want to be on top of the world.

"I mean, most of these guys are going to the national team. If this is the attitude and everything they’re going to take with them, it's something I'm very worried about."

If Menengai win they will become only the 19th side to lift the holy grail of East African Rugby. Defending champs Kabras Sugar RFC are four time title holders and will be keen to extend their reign.
