The 23-year-old has featured regularly for the Cricket Kenya Junior sides.

Gerard Muthui will finally make his debut in the senior men’s cricket national team for the Continental T-20 Cup scheduled for Friday 9 to Wednesday 21 June at the Gymkhana Club in Nairobi, Kenya.

Muthui will be playing for the senior category for the first time after participating in a couple of matches in the U19 squad.

He will be keen to implement the experience gained in the junior category as Team Kenya face off against Botswana, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Uganda.

Team Captain Rakep Patel and former captain Shem Ngoche have also made it to the squad. The duo has made several appearances in international tournaments and they will be looking to use that experience to shine on home soil.

Another former captain, Collins Obuya, will also be making a comeback since November 2022.

Others who have been called up to the squad include vice-captain Lucas Ndandason, Alex Obanda, Rushabh Patel, Sachin Bhudia, and Vraj Patel.

Sukhdeep Singh, Nelson Odhiambo, Tanzeel Sheikh, Emmanuel Bundi, and Peter Koech have also been selected.
