Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, and Botswana have confirmed their participation.

The national men's cricket team will open their 2023 season in the maiden Continental T-20 Cup penciled for the Nairobi Gymkhana from Wednesday, June 7 to June 21.

The men’s side has not been in action since last year and they will be keen to test their form when they take on their opponents.

Cricket Kenya announced that Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, Nigeria, and Botswana will be battling for the title with the hosts.

They missed out on the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier in Namibia that ended in April and they will be looking for redemption when they face off against their opponents.

The David Obuya-coached side had a great season last year with more than three events lined up for them.

They successfully hosted the men’s T20 series where they battled it out with Nepal. After the series, a team of 16 was selected to represent the country in the men's ICC T20 World Cup Africa 'A' sub-regional qualifier. The team ended their campaign with a four-nation tournament in Rwanda.

Meanwhile, the women’s side opened their season at the Victoria T20 Series where they finished fifth after losing all their matches.

Their next port of call is the Kwibuka Women’s T20 tournament scheduled for Friday, June 9 to 17 at the Gahanga Cricket Stadium in Rwanda.

The game between Kenya and Uganda at the Victoria Series 2023 has just been washed out because of a heavy downpour and persistent drizzle that made the conditions unplayable at the Lugogo Cricket Oval.

On their part, the men’s under-19 side is preparing for the International Cricket Council U19 men’s World Cup Africa Division 1 qualifier scheduled for July 23 to 29 in Tanzania.
