It was a result of historical significance as Jasmeet had finished second in 2022 edition.

Jasmeet Chana clinched a historic first rally victory by winning the Nakuru Rally that was based around the Elementaita area on Saturday.

The 45-year-old driver tasted his first-ever win after beating favorite Hamza Anwar in the third round of the Kenya National Rally Championship (KNRC) with Ravi Chana as his navigator.

Amman Shah, on his Subaru Impreza sealed the podium finish while Shakeel Khan was fourth behind him.

Rift Valley Motor Sports Club organized the rally that attracted only eight cars, with only four finishing the rally.

2021 Nakuru Rally champion Karan Patel did not participate in the rally, having also skipped the Rally of Tanzania and 2023 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally this year.

Nakuru Rally had three Competitive Stages, done twice at Soy, Warrior, and Bweha.

Winner Jasmeet was all smiles, and here is what he had to say about his fairy tale victory as quoted by Nation; “We have finally won a rally. It is a very good feeling. I hope some sponsors can see our results and join us for the Safari Rally next month. But we are very happy,”

The drivers will now focus on the World Rally Championship Safari Rally for the third year between June 23 and 26, where some Kenyan drivers will compete in the KNRC championship.
