Marvin Nabwire was over the moon after Benni McCarthy’s move, noting that he was working hard and expecting that someday, his effort would pay off.

Nabwire revealed that he never took a break after the successful season and continued training, adding that he has finally achieved what he was always dreaming of.

“I believe it’s a good thing because I have been working hard, but as a player, you also need to be ready for anything. I was ready for this because after the season ended, I did not take a break; I continued training because I knew anything was capable. It’s a great thing for me,” Marvin Nabwire said as per Focus Sport Football.

“I wouldn’t say my whole mind was on making the team. Of course, I was expecting to be called during the first squad naming, but every player had a great season and everyone who was called deserved that spot.

“I would say that I really wanted to be there, but all the others who were called also deserved it. Luck played a huge role, too.”

Before CHAN, Harambee Stars are scheduled to participate in a CECAFA Four Nations Championship scheduled for July 21-27. Harambee Stars are in Group A of CHAN, alongside Morocco, DRC Congo, Angola and Zambia.
