KCB Golf Tour Returns to Sigona with Slots to Finale on the Line

The prestigious 18-hole Sigona Golf Course is gearing up to host the 17th leg of the KCB East Africa Golf Tour on Saturday, marking another pivotal stop on the road ahead of the grand finale scheduled for December 5, 2025.

The weekend tournament will welcome over 200 golfers, all eyeing top honours and a chance to qualify for the finale.

The top two teams from this leg will secure automatic slots in the ultimate showdown, where the region's top golfing talent will battle it out. Speaking ahead of the tournament, Sigona Golf Club Captain Sammy Mwiti shared his excitement.

“We are extremely proud to be part of the 2025 KCB East Africa Golf Tour. This competition has played an integral role in advancing the growth of the sport,” he said.

“As Sigona Golf Club, we welcome all golfers to our course, which is in pristine condition. We look forward to a fantastic outing on Saturday.”

The KCB East Africa Golf Tour has already reached ten counties in Kenya, including Nairobi, Nakuru, Kisumu, Laikipia, Nandi, Mombasa, Kisii, Kiambu, Machakos, and Kericho, and extended regionally to Uganda and Burundi.

Rosalind Gichuru, KCB Group Director of Marketing and Communications, emphasised the broader vision behind the tournament.

“The KCB East Africa Golf Tour is more than just a sporting event; it is a platform for regional integration, talent development, and economic empowerment,” she said.

“As we head to Sigona, we are excited to witness great competition and camaraderie, and to further entrench golf as a key sport for social impact across the region.”

The 2025 edition has already engaged more than 2,000 players across East Africa and introduced over 1,000 juniors to the game through dedicated golf clinics, underlining the tour’s focus on development and accessibility.

As an added incentive, the club whose team wins the December finale will be awarded a Kshs One million cash prize to support a sustainability initiative at their facility.

The winning team will also be sponsored to compete in a prestigious international golf tournament, offering exposure and experience at the highest level. This weekend’s leg at Sigona promises to be both competitive and inspiring as the tour nears its final stretch.
