The fan, Wesley Lim, travelled for over 20 hours from Singapore to Dunfermline to meet Victor Wanyama, a dream come true.
Lim saw an opportunity to sponsor a player and decided to give his best shot by travelling to East End Park. In an interview with the Dunfermline Press, he explained that growing up, he always loved watching the Premier League.

The fan pointed out that when he met Victor Wanyama, it was a great opportunity, and he could not let go of the rare chance.
“When I met him, I don’t really know how to explain it, it’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. How many times do you get to meet someone you’ve seen on TV for ten years?” he said.
“Standing next to him was like ‘wow, he’s huge.’ His athleticism and tenacity as a defensive midfielder are something that’s really hard to find."

Wesley Lim first learnt about Dunfermline Athletic at the 2004 Scottish Cup final. The final of the match was played at Hampden Park in Glasgow, where Celtic won 3–1.
“When I was ten, I watched the Scottish League Cup Final against Celtic. That was the first time I ever heard of Dunfermline,” he said.
“It aired on free television in Singapore, so I knew of the team since then. I started to really follow them in the past few weeks, and I’ve been looking forward to my trip here.”
