Before Friday’s encounter, all the three 'Forces Derby' clashes ended in draws of 0-0, 2-2 and 0-0.

Ulinzi Stars has hailed fans that turned up at Nyayo National Stadium to support the team on Friday afternoon during their Football Kenya Federation Premier League match against Kenya Police FC.

The stadium was not as deserted as in previous matches, given local football fans from all corners of the city thronged the stands to witness the epic duel.

This was likely due to the high level of excitement surrounding the match, as it was between the Soldiers and the Police.

And in a statement published on their social media pages, Ulinzi Stars thanked their supporters who turned up in large numbers.

"Here's to you, Ulinzi Family faithful, we salute you for your love , energy and support. Yesterday was the best!," the post reads.

"You backed us throughout the first whistle to the last! We love you!The comeback is always greater! Thank you for your continuous support and unwavering love for the team!."

Ulinzi Stars owned large swathes but made a crucial mistake that was capitalized on by their opponents in the 32nd minute.

It was the Soldiers who had the first moment of the yips in the second stanza, with Sylvane Omondi forced into making a save in the 48th minute.

It was a punch that jolted Ulinzi into life and gradually, they went about their business of dismantling the Police's low defensive block.

It was hard work, and Ulinzi had to wait until the 70th minute and Stephen Etyang ensured the Law Enforcers would not go home with the bragging rights by netting an equalizer.
