Bonface Ambani claims his perpetrators are accussing him of "tearing the club apart" over his crackdown to end financial mismanagement at AFC Leopards.

AFC Leopards chairman Boniface Ambani has broken his silence following widespread speculation about internal divisions within the club’s top hierarchy, firmly dismissing reports of infighting and accusing unnamed individuals of attempting to sabotage his administration.

Speaking on Friday evening, 10 October, shortly after Ingwe’s elimination from the ODM@20 Tournament in Mombasa, Ambani addressed what he described as a “malicious campaign” aimed at destabilising the club.

His remarks came in the wake of a viral social media post that accused the current leadership of mismanagement and tension between CEO Ronald Namai and Secretary General Isaac Mulindi.

The post — which quickly circulated among Leopards fans online — further alleged that “both Ambanis,” referring to Boniface and his brother Fred Ambani, the club’s head coach, were “tearing the club apart” and that an impeachment process was being plotted to remove the chairman.

In a strongly worded response shared on his official Facebook page, Ambani rubbished the allegations, claiming they originated from disgruntled figures angered by his efforts to end financial mismanagement at the club.

“This is what happens when all taps have been closed… they’ll fight back. In God I trust,” Ambani wrote, hinting that his crackdown on corruption had provoked resistance from those benefiting from the club’s resources.

The outspoken chairman further declared that there was no discord between Namai and Mulindi, insisting that the club’s leadership remained united in its mission.

“The fight to break down the current office has failed. We decided to unite and work for the club. Those who feel they would continue eating this club to its bones are fighting back hard.

“There’s no bad blood between the SG (Isaac Mulindi) and the CEO (Ronald Namai),” he added.

The tension at the top comes at a delicate time for AFC Leopards, who are yet to record their first win of the 2025/26 FKF Premier League season after four matches, managing only two draws.
