Arsenal target Viktor Gyokeres remains one of the potential summer businesses shrouded in mystery and a long dragging saga.

Another chapter in the Viktor Gyokeres saga unfolds, this time in Italy, with reports indicating Juventus' strong interest in the Sporting CP striker and Arsenal target.

The report also highlights that Gyokeres' agent, Hasan Cetinkaya, has publicly stated he possesses a written agreement allowing the forward to leave for €60 million, plus €10 million in bonuses.

"The promise is in writing," the report read, attributing the quote to the 27-year-old goalscorer's agent.

But does such a written document actually exist? The report provided little further clarification, but it seems the agent may be referring to a clause in Gyokeres' contract.

If Sporting receives a formal offer of €60 million for their number 9 and rejects it, they must compensate him with 10% of the rejected amount.

This clause exists not in a separate letter, but within the contract signed in the summer of 2023 when Gyokeres moved from Coventry to Sporting.

Sporting paid €20 million for the striker, who signed until 2028 with a €100 million release clause.

However, Sporting has already stated that if this 10% compensation clause is triggered, they will demand the full €100 million release clause for the Swedish striker, who scored 54 goals last season, including 39 in the league, helping Sporting secure their second consecutive title.

Meanwhile, Juventus remains interested, even as Arsenal, previously considered Gyokeres' most likely destination, appears to be focusing on Leipzig's Benjamin Sesko.
