Shock As Angry Dad Brutally Punches Referee During Children’s Match After Foul on His Son [VIDEO]
A shocking incident unfolded at a children's football match in Aargau, Switzerland, where a referee was punched by a spectator after the final whistle.
Following FC Villmergen C-Junior's 4-2 loss to SC Schoftland, a parent of a Villmergen player confronted the referee as he left the pitch.
The parent, wearing a black vest and light shorts, reportedly asked the referee, "Do you know what football means?" before striking him with an uppercut, as per Aargauer Zeitung.

Video footage shows the referee managing to stay on his feet as others restrained the attacker. A Villmergen coach condemned the parent's behaviour, suggesting the outburst may have been sparked by a perceived foul against the parent's son.
Club Considering Disciplinary Action
The club is considering disciplinary action, including a potential ban on the parent attending future matches. In a statement, FC Villmergen declared: "FC Villmergen condemns any form of violence on and off the pitch. The incident following the match on May 31, 2025, deeply contradicts our core values. We are working closely with the relevant authorities to fully clarify the situation."
The video footage has been submitted to the Aargau Football Association (AFV). AFV president Luigi Ponte expressed his shock at the incident, stating, "I was truly shocked that someone could freak out like that during a game like that. We will have to refer the case to Bern," where the Swiss FA is headquartered.
Ironically, Ponte recently spoke out against referees wearing body cameras, despite a reported increase in similar incidents against officials.
Statistics indicate that a referee in Switzerland is subjected to verbal or physical abuse in approximately one out of every 100 matches.
