Tore Bobe will have their work cut out to overcome title-chasing KCB as Posta Rangers seek to maintain lead at  top with a tough test against FC Talanta.

Managerless Shabana will be seeking to correct their woeful form of four losses in their last five league games when they host KCB at the Raila Odinga Stadium in Homa Bay on Saturday afternoon.

Shabana have had a rocky few months ever since they beat Tusker against all the odds back in October, and they now find themselves lying very close to the relegation places on just 10 points, two ahead of the relegation places.

After 12 games, they have collected just two wins, drawn four, and lost the other six, and they now find themselves in a difficult predicament if they are to achieve their target of managing to finish top half of the table.

The Glamour Boys have had to rely on se-piece situations to find the back of the net this season, and have struggled to create numerous chances from open play.

As a result, they have scored just 10 goals and conceded 18, and it could be more difficult for them when they meet title-chasing Bankers.

The Bankers are third on 22 points, just three behind leaders Posta Rangers, and will be facing their chances of moving higher up the table with most of their players also very high on confidence at the moment.

First-choice KCB striker Francis Kahiro is a player Shabana’s defense should be wary of considering he has now scored five goals, and on top of that, is a genuine handful to defenders as he can stretch teams at pace, run those channels, and is dangerous with his back to goal play.

His skills might disorient the low block setup Shabana interim coach Oscar Kambona has been using to set up the team.

In the two other FKFPL matches to be played on Saturday, FC Talanta will be playing Ulinzi Stars while Posta Rangers will play Nairobi City Stars in a game set to be televised on Azam TV.

Talanta have been taking teams by surprise this season especially in attack, considering they were profligate for large parts of last season, and find themselves seventh on 19 points.

City Stars have been steady heady in mid-table positions this season as they sit 10th in the league, while Anthony ‘Modo’ Kimani’s Ulinzi Stars have been the most inconsistent side in the league this season, and have lost their last three games in a row.

Rangers have maintained their status as the league’s top dogs this season, although they have lost two games and drawn another four.

Rangers have been playing positional football not too dissimilar to Pep Guardiola’s brand, which has earned head coach John Kamau rave views.
