FKFPL Shabana in crisis as management given deadline to turn season around

Shabana FC, led by chairman Jared Nivaton, faces ultimatum to win next three matches or step aside amid relegation threat.

Shabana FC management is facing mounting pressure following an ultimatum issued by club patron Sam Nyamweya.

The ultimatum demands victory in the next three Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Premier League matches or face the prospect of stepping aside.

The urgency of the situation was underscored during a closed-door crisis meeting convened at Hill Park Hotel in Nairobi, where stakeholders, including political leaders from Gusii in Nyamira and Kisii counties, emphasised the critical need for immediate action to salvage the club's standing.

Tore Bobe's return to the top-flight after a 17-year hiatus has been fraught with challenges, with the team currently languishing second from the bottom in the 18-team league table.

"We give the leadership an opportunity to pull together and ensure the 12 upcoming matches and other competitions that Shabana participates in are given all the attention and support they need to ensure that the team is not relegated," read part of the resolutions from the meeting signed by Nyamweya as per Africa Top Sports.

The ultimatum outlined by Nyamweya specifies that the next three matches, starting with a home fixture against Bandari at Machakos Stadium on March 2, followed by clashes against KCB on March 9 and Posta Rangers on April 6, must yield positive results.

Failure to do so would lead to the management being asked to step aside, with a caretaker committee assuming control for the remainder of the season.

In a bid to bolster the team's performance, the meeting also emphasised the importance of supporting the technical bench led by Sammy 'Pamzo' Omollo.

"That the coach and the technical bench be given all the support they need to deliver results and the fans be given an opportunity in the main leadership and be co-opted in the management meetings for effective planning and coordination," the statement further added.

With Shabana FC currently positioned perilously close to the relegation zone, every match assumes heightened significance, underscoring the imperative for a concerted and unwavering effort from all stakeholders involved.
