Nairobi United duo Bichiok Dang and Enock Machaka have revealed the biggest lessons they learnt from their dream FKF Cup run that will help them ahead of their CAF Confederation Cup and top flight challenge next season.
Fresh from their historic FKF Cup triumph, Nairobi United’s Enock Machaka and Bichok Dang have outlined three major lessons that could shape their performance in the upcoming CAF Confederation Cup and their first season in the FKF Premier League.
Machaka, who scored the winning goal in the final against Gor Mahia, emphasized how high-pressure matches and noisy stadiums demanded a new level of in-game discipline and awareness.
Playing in front of a packed Ulinzi Sports Complex, Machaka said the team had to adapt quickly to the noise levels and find ways to communicate without words.
“We learnt how to play without talking,” he told Radio Jambo. “In that noise, you can call someone next to you and they won’t hear. You have to use your eyes and know where your teammates are.”

According to the former Bandari and Talanta forward, the high-stakes matches against top-tier opponents like Tusker, KCB, and Gor Mahia sharpened individual decision-making.
“You learn to help yourself — receive the ball, scan, and decide quickly. It forced us to grow mentally,” he added.
Vice-captain Bichok Diang warned that the days of Nairobi United being underdogs are over — and that brings new challenges.
“Teams now know we’re a threat. They’ll plan more seriously against us. It’ll be tough, but we’re prepared for that,” said Diang. “In CAF, nothing is impossible. We’ve proven we can compete.”
