FKFPL Samuel Ndung'u's brace helps Bidco United to a heavy thumping of Ulinzi Stars

Stephen Ndung'u dazzled as the Thika-based side handed the Soldiers their eighth league defeat of the season.

Bidco United thrashed Ulinzi Stars 3-0 in a Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKFPL) match at Kasarani Annex on Monday afternoon.

The win took Bidco to the 12th spot on the league standings, while the Soldiers remained on eighth place on the table.

John Owira, Lameck Oloo, John Nairuka and Jacob Onyango made their return to Bidco's starting line-up as Antony Akhulia made four changes to the team that beat Mathare United 3-0 on Sunday May 7.

On the other side, Bernard Mwalala decided to drop Swaleh Chacha, Shanel Makwatta, Hillary Simiyu and Boniface Muchiri who were part of the squad that was held to a 1-1 draw by relegation-threatened Nairobi City Stars in their last outing.

The hosts came into the match having won two of their five last matches and having conceded four goals in the process.

Ulinzi dominated the early exchanges of the game as they looked to carve out clear-cut openings in Bidco defense.

The hosts resorted to sitting deep and defending with the likes of Samuel Ndung'u and Ezekiel Okare looking to use their pace whenever they launched a counterattack.

Bidco then started probing and they were rewarded in the 18th minute when John Nairuka set-up Sameul Ndung'u who broke the deadlock to make it 1-0.

Ulinzi Stars tried to respond with a goal as they pushed forward in numbers with former Sony Sugar marksman Clinton Omondi spearheading their attack.

But Bidco found their second in the 32nd minute through Ndung'u who picked the ball just past the halfway line from  Ezekiel Okare's pass and drove defenders all the way before sending the ball past Ochieng in goal.

Lucas Indeche was a spectator in most of the opening stanza until Lameck Oloo's 43rd minute strike which was collected by the goal minder.

Bernard Mwalala was a disappointed man as his side failed to find the back of the net despite enjoying the ball possession in the last fifteen minutes of the first half as they went into the break trailing 2-0.

At the early 48th minute, Masita Masuta was set free on the left flank and made a dangerous entry into the penalty box only for Indeche to produce a fine save.

Clinton Omondi had a chance to find the back of the net in the 59th minute but the forward sent the ball into the Bidco’s shot-stopper grateful arms.

Ulinzi were left vulnerable at the back whenever they pushed forward and they were punished in the 68th minute by Ezekiel Okare with an easy tap-in after Stephen Ochieng spilled the ball from Peter Nzuki’s cross from the left.

Second-half substitute Salim Swaleh tried to make an immediate impact, but his effort missed the target, before he placed his low shot inches wide, with Bidco dominating possession.

Despite their efforts to pull one back, the Soldiers did not have a good game on the day and Bidco walked away with three points that moved them to 12th position on the log.
