When asked about the possibility of returning to South African giants Orlando Pirates, during a recent interview on Sky Sport, Mokwena did not hesitate.
“Of course I would consider it. Of course I would. It's a big club, and it's still got people that are very close to me and to my heart," said Mokwena.
Mokwena spoke glowingly about his relationship with Dr. Irvin Khoza, the chairman of the Buccaneers, emphasizing the immense respect he holds for the veteran football administrator.
“I'm very, very fond of Dr. Khoza and he will always have a special place in my heart,” Mokwena said.
“As a coach, I've learned a lot about leadership from three of the best, in fact, for me, three of the best football leaders on the continent. Dr. Khoza is number one for sure,” he stated, praising his holistic knowledge of various disciplines beyond football.
