Ruben Amorim sacked: Europa League win might not save Man Utd boss after latest revelation

Ruben Amorim may be on borrowed time at Manchester United, according to fresh reports coming out of England.

Manchester United's hierarchy are reportedly planning to conduct a review of manager Ruben Amorim's position at the end of the current season.

The decision follows recent comments from Amorim himself, who has publicly suggested that he may not be the right individual to lead the club forward.

Amorim's Red Devils have disappointed in the Premier League since the Portuguese manager replaced Erik ten Hag in November, with the Manchester giants 16th in the top flight heading into the final two fixtures this term.

Could Man Utd sack Amorim?

As reported by The Express, winning the Europa League would not influence the club's decision, and the hierarchy's call hinges on other factors outside of next week’s May 21 final against Tottenham Hotspur.

The scrutiny stems from a disappointing league campaign, which saw the club suffer their 17th Premier League defeat of the season in a recent 2-0 loss to West Ham, and Amorim's subsequent candid remarks.

The former Sporting boss publicly suggested that he may not be the right individual to lead the club forward, reportedly raising eyebrows inside the club.

The report further suggests that while a positive working relationship is said to exist between Amorim and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, the manager's outspoken comments following the recent setback against West Ham could potentially strain this alliance.
