The Flying Eagles team led by Head Coach Aliyu Zubairu take on the junior Harambee Stars of Kenya in their final group game of the ongoing U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Egypt.

Nigeria 1-0 Tunisia

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria defeated the junior Carthage Eagles of Tunisia 1-0 in their opening group game of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The team led by Head Coach Aliyu Zubairu are drawn in group B of the tournament alongside Tunisia, Kenya and Morocco.

In their opening game, the team started well and took the lead in the 38th minute.

The Flying Eagles of Nigeria were held to a 0-0 draw by Morocco in their 2nd U-20 AFCON group game.

In the clash of group leaders, Nigeria dominated proceedings but were unable to find the breakthrough in the first half.

Kenya had a strong start to the game and were rewarded in the sixteenth minute as Lawrence Ouma sprang to head in a precise free kick from Kevin Injehu.

But just before halftime, Morocco responded with a well-placed strike from Yassir Zabiri after a flurry in the box.

Just ten minutes after the restart, Zabiri doubled his tally with a crisp header from close range to give Morocco the lead.

Hassan Beja leveled the score at 2-2 in the 71st minute with a powerful strike from the center of the area.

In the 78th minute, Saad El Haddad's deft ball was intercepted by Reda Laalaoui, who calmly tapped past the goalie to make it 3-2.

In the 89th minute, Morocco was given a penalty, but the Kenyan goalie stopped Othmane Maamma's attempt

Tunisia defeated Kenya 3-1, coming back from behind to record their first victory in Group B of the 2025 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations.

After a spectacular play by Hassan Beja, Lawrence Ouma scored from close range to give Kenya the lead in the 38th minute.

Bousnina's well-taken penalty kick gave Tunisia the equalizer well into stoppage time of the first half.

After an inadequate clearance by the East Africans, Omar Ben Ali gave the North Africans the lead with the most straightforward of finishes.

With just a few minutes remaining, Alaaeddine Derbali's incredible right-wing strike completed the victory.

With two losses, Kenya is in danger of being eliminated early.

Kenya faces Nigeria in need of a victory, while Tunisia concludes Group B action on Wednesday against North African rivals Morocco.
