Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has given reasons why outgoing defender Trent Alexander-Arnold should not be given any special treatment on his final day at the club.
Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher feels defender Trent Alexander-Arnold should not be given a special send-off by the club following his decision to leave.
The 26-year-old right-back, who has been at Liverpool since he was six, has opted against extending his contract after agreeing a deal with Spanish giants Real Madrid, a decision that has not gone down well with supporters.
That was on full display on Sunday when he was booed by Liverpool fans after coming on as a substitute in their 2-2 draw away to Arsenal.

‘Embarrassed’ Ruben Amorim Explains Why He May Quit Manchester United
Manchester United coach Ruben Amorim has given reasons why he may have to walk away from the club amid their struggles in the Premier League.
“He doesn't need to come on the pitch. Everyone will come on the pitch at the end of the game. He doesn't need to be brought on,” Carragher said on Sky Sports as quoted by Dailymail.
“I said before, I don't know about a send-off or anything like that. He is choosing to leave. I don't agree with that [booing] today.
“But I don't think he should be given a big thing at the end of the season or given a microphone to do a big speech in front of the crowd.

Benni McCarthy Reveals Why He Snubbed South Africa And Europe For Harambee Stars Role
Harambee Stars coach Benni McCarthy has opened on why he chose the Kenyan national football team coaching role despite being linked with a return to either South Africa or Europe.
Carragher, however, understands why Alexander-Arnold has chosen to join Madrid, claiming nearly all of the Liverpool players would do the same if the opportunity was presented to them.
“Supporters of any football club right now will probably not want to hear this, but most players in that Liverpool dressing room probably want to play for Real Madrid,” he added.
“I've been in a dressing room where players left us to go to Barcelona and Real Madrid. It's really hard for supporters. You almost feel like they fall for it every time, "this player absolutely loves us". And then they move on and go somewhere else.
“Players don't think like supporters. A lot of those players in the dressing room will think they'd love to play for Real Madrid.”
