Liverpool are on the verge of appointing Dutch football manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst to their coaching staff ahead of next season.
Giovanni van Bronckhorst is expected to replace Arne Slot's former assistant manager, John Heitinga, who departed to become Ajax's head coach.
According to Sky Sports, Liverpool's sporting director Richard Hughes and Arne Slot held talks with Van Bronckhorst last month. An agreement is now close and is expected to be finalised in the coming days.

During his time as a player, Van Bronckhorst played for RKC Waalwijk, Feyenoord, Rangers, Arsenal, and Barcelona and returned to Feyenoord.
He was very instrumental as Barcelona claimed victory in the 2005–06 UEFA Champions League, as he was in the starting lineup of the final.
